UNU-BIOLAC advisory group welcomes new member

The scientific advisory committee (SAC) of United Nations University Biotechnology for Latin American and the Caribbean programme, welcomed a new member at its annual meeting in Caracas in March. He is Dr. Javier Verastegui, executive director of CamBioTec. UNU Council member Dr. Hebe Vessuri also attended the event.
The meeting was held in conjunction with a reception to mark the opening of the programme's remodelled offices attended by the Director and staff of Venezuela's Institute of Advanced Studies (IDEA), representatives of the Ministries of Science and Technology and Foreign Affairs, UNDP and several embassies.
